Description
Event: Spoon Club
Date: January 19, 2025
Time: 10am to 4pm
Location: Green Anchors, 8940 N Bradford St, Portland, OR 97203
Portland Spoon Club is intended as a space for green woodworkers to carve in company, share techniques & resources and show off tools & projects. Folks are encouraged to bring things to show off, swap, & sell. Spoon Club is not a structured class, but we encourage folks of all skill levels to come hang out and try to give those brand new folks a place to start by offering a spoon carving crash course each month along with making basic tools available to use during the gathering.
Participants who have their own tools & wood should bring them and donations of extra wood are appreciated
Located next to Cathedral Park in St Johns, our gathering area is technically outside, so come prepared for the weather and bring yourself a seat.
Sometimes community members step up to teach a specific skill during a monthly gathering. If you are interested in hosting a ‘how to’, let us know!
The space is held from 10 am-4 pm the 3rd Sunday of the month.
A spoon carving crash course is from roughly 10:30 am-11:30 am
Minimum age is 16, no dogs and the gathering is limited to 30 folks.
There is a suggested donation of $5-10 with no one turned away.
